Bio
Ella Alhudithi is a Ph.D. student in the Applied Linguistics and Technology program with interests in language pedagogy, corpus linguistics, genre theory, and written discourse analysis. Her present research integrates a genre and corpus-based approach to examine the rhetorical structural moves and their linguistic realizations in university faculty's teaching statements. In addition to her studies, she works as an Interdisciplinary/English Writing Consultant at ISU's Center for Communication Excellence and as an academic writing instructor in the English Department.
Prior to ISU, she completed her MA in TESL/TEFL at Colorado State University, where she studied L2 vocabulary input in 36 K-12 textbooks and instructed different language courses. Her work has been published in journals like LLT (Language Learning and Technology) and SSLLT (Studies in Second Language Learning and Teaching) and presented at conferences, such as American Pragmatics Association, International Linguistic Association, Modern Language Association, and International TESOL. Outside of academia, Ella loves hiking, meditating, traveling, and discovering new places and cultures. Spending time with her dog and cat is also one of her great joys.
